Erm, so yeah, it's some grabs of my Worbench which I've sent in coz
Il Vostino complained about the lack of submissions (well hey, if I
can't have my mods on there then I might as well have something (although
I do get my name on the CD every month anyway since I wrote some of the
FAQs)).
It's running in NTSC Hi-Res laced (256 colours) due to a weird monitor that
doesn't like PAL and my flicker-fixer.
Stuff you can see:
Those damn nice backdrop and window patterns are in the patterns drawer
and I was going fo a nice beach type feel - not that I succeeded...
Also running NewIcons for those nice, sexy looking icons :) Oh and that
spider icon is from the Arthropodicons collection (it's been on at least
one AFCD and contains some excellent arthropod style icons).
At the bottom, you can see BBarV1.2 - I wrote it but it's not great so it's
not available anywhere but, if you really want a copy (and the source code
(Blitz)) then email me at the address at the bottom. It's stable, uses
almost no memory and is easy to configure, unlike every other program of this
type that I've tried.
Bottom right, Netstat (on an AFCD near you) to keep track of my phone bill.
Top right, the standard workbench clock commodity - hey, it works so why
change it?
Those patterns in the window's titlebars are provided by Birdie (yep, it's
on an AFCD somewhere along with those patterns I'm using).
The extra two window gadgets are done by PowerWB (guess where :) and they
switch between Icon and Name view and View all files...
One of the grabs features YAM (the best email client on the Amiga IMO) and
again, it's been on loads of AFCDs.
In order to actually have some chip mem left after all that, I'm running
HappyEnv (keeps all those little prefs files out of Ram:) and fblit (moves
those funky wbpatterns to fast ram) oh and MCP (which you can't see) is
patching just about everything in the background. All on AFCDs...
Anything else? Oh right, yes, I've got quite a few accounts with different ISPs
hence that Miami icon all over the place. My harddrive has more partitions than
anyone really needs because I used to have seperate setups for different uses
but now I've got 34MB of ram so I don't need them anymore but I can't be arsed
to change things now.
Any more questions, email me: fool@afb-ot.co.uk or fool@the-top.co.uk or
baseheadz@bigfoot.com or.... :)
